An Instagrammable hotel in Himara, Albania

his story starts like this: We were tempted by Travel Magazine Balkans to enter a competition they were running on Instagram and the picture that gained more likes would win a weekend getaway at Geo & Art Boutique Hotel in Himara Albania.

As soon as we checked this fascinating boutique hotel on Instagram, we fell in love and we decided that we had to do our best and win this one.

So, obviously we asked all our friends and contacts to give us their support and it felt great to have it. We were declared the winners and our weekend awaited.

We packed our bags and departed towards Himara. Luckily for us, the new road that takes you to Qeparo and then to Himara had just finished so it was pretty easy to reach our destination. Traveling with a toddler who doesn’t like to stay in her car seat much can be a little adventurous some times.

As soon as we entered Geo & Art Boutique we were greeted by the lovely host. To be honest, at first she was surprised by the size of Shadow (our golden) and probably thought we would have a small dog. But nevertheless she was very kind and welcoming and as always, Shadow proved to be an amazing girl (I cannot bring myself to call her a dog). Better behaved than Doen, if I may say.

e waited a bit in the balcony near the reception for our room to get ready and what can we say. The second we entered our room, it was love at first sight. A bed that created the idea it was hanging, spacious bedroom and the balcony. That balcony became the focus of all our pictures and videos. Here's the video so you can get a better feeling:

And at that moment, the photo spam began for all our followers.

As always, with our girls that love the sea, we put on our bathing suits and rushed to the beach. As soon as you cross the road, you find Private Lounge which offers free sunbeds for it’s clients if they consume a drink.

In the afternoons we went for a walk at the promenade which is only 2 minutes from the hotel and usually we consumed our dinners there. We got back to our room, put Doen to sleep and enjoyed some mommy and daddy time in the balcony, consuming a drink and watching people walk just outside our hotel. We were amazed at the families with little children who would have fun until midnight. Amazed and jealous 🙂 Our girl needs her bed to fall asleep and we usually don’t risk going past her sleeping time because than it becomes mission impossible to put her to bed.

For breakfast, we chose what we wished to eat and they would bring it to our room with a huge tray. At first we thought to eat in bed as a family. But then our eye went at that amazing balcony so outside we went to have the most amazing breakfast.
